The screen enclosure is the most-used room of a Florida estate, and the worst place to hang an afterthought fixture. We light the cage as architecture: linear light tucked under the beams and mansard, a soft wash up the frame, perimeter and step lighting for safety, and accent on the water and the plantings. Warm 2200–2700K color keeps insects away and holds the night sky visible through the screen instead of glaring against it. Every fixture is wet-rated and marine-grade, because the caged lanai traps humidity and salt. And it all ties into the home, so “evening” or “away” sets the cage along with the house.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does pool cage lighting attract bugs?
Far less than standard lighting. Insects are drawn to short-wavelength blue and white light; we use warm amber color inside the enclosure, which draws a fraction of the bugs while still lighting the space beautifully.
Will it glare or wash out the view through the screen?
No. Fixtures are shielded and aimed to light surfaces rather than the screen, and everything dims, so the enclosure glows softly and the night sky and water stay visible instead of reflecting back at you.
Can the fixtures survive the humidity inside the cage?
When specified for it, yes. The caged lanai traps humidity and salt, so we use wet-rated, marine-grade fixtures rated for that environment — standard landscape fixtures corrode quickly in a screen enclosure near the coast.
